Ghanga the Elephant Boy in “The Gorilla God” (Buster Brown;1950)

This golden age story called “The Gorilla God” starring Ghanga the Elephant Boy was written by Hobart Donavan and illustrated by Ray Willner and first appeared in the Buster Brown Comic Book #19 (Spring 1950); originally published by the Buster Brown Shoe Co. In this tale, young Ghanga the Mahout (elephant driver) and his Excellency the Maharajah have to recapture an escaped great ape whose activities imperil the superstitious locals. The Catacombs is grateful to Don "Zu-Gogo" Falkos for providing the scans for this story.
